Financial Institutions and ISOs need to purchase new ATMs or retrofit their current fleet to receive all the benefits of Better ATM® Services’ Phase II integrated technology.  They’ll want Phase II technology because it's the only approved technology and the most profitable solution for selling ATM-dispensed open branded (e.g. Visa or MasterCard) or closed loop Gift Cards.  If they're not buying new, they'll be looking to you to provide the proper software and hardware retro kit.  Increased sales means increased revenue.  Back to List

2. What do I do if the ATMs we manufacture are Host based (dumb terminals)?

For Better ATM® Services’ Phase I technology, host-based ATMs require little software modification by the ATM Manufacturer to properly dispense Gift Cards.  Better ATM® Services can work with your engineers to certify Gift Card and prepaid media and to determine changes to the screen flow.

For Better ATM® Services' Phase II technology, Host based ATMs require additional modifications to interface with Better ATM® Services Gift Card activation system.  ATMs also require an additional, inexpensive hardware device to properly capture Gift Card information.  Better ATM® Services has relationships with several hardware device manufacturers and is able to negotiate a more competitive rate than a single manufacturer can achieve.  Better ATM® Services is ready to assist ATM Manufacturers on a number of ways.  We will work with you to ensure software and hardware requirements are identified in the planning phases and to test the functionality in the QA stages, as we have helpful insight based on our experiences with other manufacturers, beta projects, pilot projects, and research projects.  Back to FAQs

3. What do I do if the ATMs we manufacture are Client based (smart terminals)?

For Better ATM® Services' Phase I technology, Client-based ATMs require software screen flows and menu modifications by the ATM Manufacturer to properly dispense Gift Cards.  Better ATM® Services can work with your engineers to certify the Gift Card and coordinate with your software engineers to direct the changes to the screen flows and menu modifications.

For Better ATM® Services Phase II technology, client-based ATMs require additional modifications to interface with Better ATM® Services' Gift Card activation system.  ATMs also require an additional, inexpensive hardware device to properly capture Gift Card information.  We're able to negotiate a more competitive rate than a single manufacturer can achieve.  Better ATM® Services is ready to you in a number of ways. We will work with you to ensure software and hardware requirements are identified in the planning phases and test the functionality in the QA stages and you'll benefit from our insight based on our experiences with other manufacturers, beta projects, pilot projects, and research projects.   Back to FAQs

4. How do we become a certified ATM Manufacturer?

Once your ATM model has been equipped for Better ATM® Services' Phase I or Phase II technology and tested by Better ATM® Services, you will be added to the certified ATM manufacture list that is posted on our website.  In addition, once you’re certified, Better ATM® Services will notify our extensive list of current Financial Institution and ISO contacts of your certification.   Back to FAQs

5. How much will Better ATM® Services be involved with the integration of the technology into the ATM Manufacturer integration process?

At a minimum, Better ATM® Services should be involved with the software and hardware planning phases and QA processes of the project.  We should also be included in major update meetings.  Better ATM® Services is also willing to be more involved at your direction.  We ask to be involved in the various planning and QA phases because, in our experience, it assures the success of a smooth integration process.   Back to FAQs
