1. Why do I need Better ATMTM Services to dispense Gift Cards; can’t I do it on my own?
- Better ATMTM Services has a patent for the distribution of Gift Cards and prepaid media from the ATM and several other patents pending surrounding our technology. We would like every ISO to participate in the distribution of Gift Cards and prepaid media from ATMs to strengthen our negotiating ability with Gift Card and prepaid media companies. - No, Better ATMTM Services has worked with each ATM manufacturer to obtain certification for their ATMs and dispensers so you can be assured they are capable of dispensing Gift Cards, which does not void the warranty. Back to FAQs
4. What steps should I take so I can sell Gift Cards from ATMs?
- Call Better ATMTM Services and let us know of your interest. We can help walk you through the process.
- Determine if you need your merchant or store owner’s permission. Some storeowners will need to approve of the Gift Card option in your ATM before you begin dispensing Gift Cards.
- Decide on the Gift Card offerings. Better ATMTM Services has negotiated several Gift Card and prepaid media programs that you can leverage and sell from your ATM. We recommend that you talk to your merchant or store owner to determine if they would like to offer their Gift Cards from the ATM as well. This will allow you to create additional “stickiness” at that location.
- Configure your ATM. Some screen changes will need to occur when offering a Gift Card from your ATM. The menu options will be updated in this process to allow the sale of Gift Cards.
- Coordinate with your Processor/Driver. Because a Gift Card purchase is a Point-of-Sale transaction, the ATM must be configured correctly to interface with the processor in order to properly execute the transaction. Better ATMTM Services has experience in working with the Processor/Drivers to properly configure the ATM and we’ll provide the Processor/Driver with the information they need to configure their systems.
- Load the ATM with Gift Cards or Prepaid Media. Some cassette configurations are required when loading Gift Cards or prepaid media. Better ATMTM Services has support documentation to aid you in this process. In fact, we are willing to train your support team, if needed.
