1. Expand Lines of Revenue

Better ATM® Services produces additional revenue streams for ISOs with ATM-dispensed gift cards.  You’ll make money on each transaction, similar to cash, and you’ll have the opportunity to make more money by reselling our services.  Even more revenue comes your way when Better ATM® Services works with you as you leverage all your locations in negotiating more profitable advertising revenue for the center panel of the gift card sheet.  Back to List

2. Less Risk Than Cash

With Better ATM® Services' Phase II technology, gift cards have no redemption value until they're sold and activated through the ATM.  Unlike cash, if a thief steals the gift card they have only stolen a plastic card because the card is not active and CANNOT be redeemed.

Better ATM® Services' Phase I technology also reduces risk because we track the distribution of gift cards to specific ISOs and ATMs.  If a gift card is missing during the reconciliation process, we’re able to identify exactly who is responsible for its loss.  Back to List

1. Why do I need Better ATM® Services to dispense Gift Cards?  Can’t I do it on my own?

Better ATM® Services holds the patent for the distribution of gift cards and prepaid media from the ATM as well as several other patents pending surrounding our technology.  We license IADs and other program participants to engage in the distribution of ATM-dispensed gift cards and prepaid media.  Back to FAQs

2. What ATM manufacturers and models can dispense Gift Cards?

Better ATM® Services has certified ATM models and dispensers from several manufacturers including Diebold, Triton and NCR.  We are available to discuss how we can address your specific needs.  Back to FAQs

3. Will dispensing Gift Cards void my manufacturer warranty?

No, Better ATM® Services has worked with each ATM manufacturer to obtain certification for their ATMs and dispensers so you can be assured they are capable of dispensing gift cards, which does not void the warranty.  Back to FAQs

4. What steps should I take so I can sell Gift Cards from ATMs?   

  1. Call Better ATM® Services and let us know of your interest.  We can help walk you through the process.
  2. Determine if you need your merchant or store owner's permission.  Some storeowners will need to approve of the gift card option in your ATM before you begin dispensing.
  3. Decide on your gift card offerings.  Better ATM® Services offers ATM-dispensed Visa gift cards and our Discover myGIFT multi-merchant card with nationally recognized brands that you can sell from your ATM.
  4. Opt for fixed or variable load cards.  To get started, you need to decide on a fixed value or variable value gift card.  Because variable load means you have no financial risk tied up in the card, this may work best for you and your customers who want options to address their individual needs.
  5. Configure your ATM.  Your ATMs will require hardware and software adjustments to dispense gift cards.  Keep in mind that your increased revenue will more than cover the cost of upgrading, which involves a minimal investment.  In addition, some screen changes will need to occur.  The menu options will be updated in this process.
  6. Coordinate with your Processor/Driver.  Because a gift card purchase is a point-of-sale transaction, the ATM must be correctly configured to interface with the processor assuring properly executed transactions.  Better ATM® Services has experience in working with Processor/Drivers to properly configure the ATM.  We’ll provide the Processor/Driver with the information they need to configure their systems.
  7. Load the ATM with Gift Cards.  Some minor cassette configurations are required when loading gift cards.  Better ATM® Services has support documentation to aid you in this process.  We're willing to train your support team, if needed. Back to FAQs

5. Can all processor/drivers handle a Gift Card purchase? 

Several processors are able to handle gift card transactions.  In fact, several more are in the process of making the necessary changes to their systems to execute the transactions.  ANI, CDS, and Elan (South Platform).are able to handle your transactions.  In addition, we are currently working with a number of others.  Contact Better ATM® Services for specifics.  Back to FAQs

6. What do I do if my Processor/Driver is not on the certified list?

Contact Better ATM® Services at info@betteratmservices.com or call us at (480) 296-2033.  We will work with your Processor/Driver to provide them the necessary requirements to handle gift card transactions.  We can let you know if we are working with your Processor/Driver, now.  Back to FAQs

7. Can I sub-license the program?

IADs can only sub-license the program with special approval and by executing a contract with Better ATM® Services.  We review each sub-license request on a case-by-case basis.   Back to FAQs

8. How Do I Make Money?
